What is Qurbani?
Qurbani (also called Udhiyah) is the sacrifice of an animal during Eid ul-Adha. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) in obedience to Allah’s command.

Who Must Give Qurbani?
Qurbani is obligatory (wajib) according to the Hanafi school on every Muslim who:
- Is of sound mind
- Has reached puberty
- Possesses the Nisab (minimum wealth threshold)
When is Qurbani?
Qurbani can be performed during the three days of Eid ul-Adha (10th, 11th, and 12th of Dhul Hijjah), after the Eid prayer.

- Sheep/Goat: 1 share per animal
- Cow/Buffalo: Up to 7 shares per animal
- Camel: Up to 7 shares per animal
